Marble Butter Cake is a very common cake found in bakery shop across Malaysia. It happen to be my favourite. Today, I learned how to bake the perfect Marble Butter Cake. Having it straight from the oven, accompanied by a cup of hot coffee……Blissssss! Not to mention, the weather is cooling from the heavy downpour just now. What can be better than having such a great afternoon break! Cheers!

Marble Butter Cake

Ingredients :

A

  • 125g butter (Recommending Golden Churn Butter from the can)
  • 110g sugar

B

  • 3 eggs

C

  • 125g plain flour
  • 1 tbsp milk powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda

  • 2-3 tbsp fresh milk

E

  • 1tbsp coffee powder plus ½ tsp water
Preparation Methods
  1. Beat “A” until fluffy and light colour
  2. Add in “B” one at a time till the texture become light and creamy smooth
  3. Sift “C” into the mixing bowl.
  4. Fold in “C” till well mixed.  Add in “D” and mix well.
  5. Set aside the batter in the mixing bowl.
  6. Mix “E” till become paste.  Take 1 cup of the batter from the mixing bowl and add into the “E” paste.
  7. Pour the remaining batter into the cake pan. 
  8. Create 6 patch of coffee batter on top of the batter.
  9. Use spoon/spatula and fold the coffee batter into the original batter.
  10. Bake in preheated oven at 180c for about 40-45 minutes. 
  11. If one prefer “moist” cake, bake for 90% of the duration mentioned above.
