Sun shine so brightly today after the heavy downpour yesterday. This inspired me to create the “Sunshine Booties”. Went through my heaps of yarn and pull out the Orange Daisy Yarn for the sole. Baby C said Yellow goes wonderful with orange and just the colour to match the mood today! So, yellow it is! TADA! The end result after 2 hours.

Tried to match all sorts of ornaments collection that I have and finally, I decided to crochet the flower petals with white yarn. Finishing it off with an orange stud to complete the creation as below :

SUNSHINE BOOTIES PATTERN

WHAT YOU NEED?

  1. Yarn : Daisy Baby Wool (Wool-50%, Cashmere-15%, Silk Protein-35%). 2 colour : Orange, Yellow and White with tint of sparkle.
  2. Crochet Hook : 4.0
  3. Scissors
  4. Ribbon
  5. Orange beads (2x)
  6. Needle and Thread – to sew the flower to the booties.

PATTERNS AS BELOW

SOLE

Ch 10, Start in the 2nd ch from the hook.  Work into back loops only.

Round 1 : 2 HDC into the same. 1 HDC into the next 7 sts. 6 HDC into the last ch. 1 HDC into next 7 sts. 2 HDC into the last. Join with ss

Round 2 : 2HDC into next 2 sts. 1 HDC into next 7 sts. 2HDC into the next 6 sts. 1 HDC into next 7 sts. 2HDC into next 2 sts. Join with ss.

Round 3 : Repeat (2HDC, 1 HDC) 2 times. HDC 7. Repeat (2HDC, 1HDC) 6 times. 7HDC. Repeat (2HDC, 1HDC) 2 times. Join with ss.

UPPER PART

Round 1 : Join the yarn in the middle of the heel with ch 1. 1 sc into the next 44 sts.

Round 2 : Ch1. 1HDC into 44 sts. Join with ss.

Round 3 : Ch1. 1sc into next 11sts. Repeat (HDC2TOG, 2HDC) 5 times. HDC2TOG. 11scinto next 11sts.

Round 4 : Ch1. 1sc into next 12sts. 1 HDC. HDC2TOG. Repeat DC2TOG 4 times. HDC2TOG. 1HDC. 12 sc into next 12 sts.

Round 5 : Ch1. 1sc into next 10sts. HDC2TOG. Repeat DC2TOG 4 times. HDC2TOG. 10 sc into next 10 sts.

FLOWER

Magic ring. Start with 2ch in the magic ring, DC x2, 2ch, ss to magic ring. Repeat 4 more.

Pull the string for the stitch to form the flower petals.

You can choose to place the flower in the middle or by the side based on your preferences.
