Goodness of Shallot

Do you know?

Shallots are particularly rich in minerals, vitamins and trace elements. They also contain phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, manganese, iron and copper. They are rich in vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), which plays an important role in the functioning of the nervous and immune systems.

Why Shallot Oil and not just shallot in dishes?

  1. Love the Aroma – it is just extremely addictive.

The fragrant aroma fills the air when it’s being prepared in a bulk and it’s truly awesome!  If I can capture the “aroma” and paste it here – I would!

  2. Family’s all time favourite – I have a dry noodle queen at home 😋😋

Baby C is a dry noodle lover!  Seriously, she can have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner continuously. No joke! While I love the instant dry noodle but I oppose to having them regularly.  The instant noodle usually comes with the shallot oil and some had the fried shallot as well, as part of the seasoning pack.  Now that I begin to prepare my own shallot oil and fried shallots, I hardly get those instant dry noodle pack anymore.  Usually, I will opt for the wan tan noodle and prepare my own seasonings.  Most important of all – Baby C loves ’em!

  3. Convenient – Ease my daily meal preparations

Having a bottle of shallot oil by the kitchen counter really makes my meal preparation easier.  I do not have to dice shallot and tear, everytime I cook.  I just add those wonderful magic oil to the meat or vegetable dishes and it’s that easy!  Those oil are great for soup as well.

  4. Garnishing and Beauty – It elevates the dish!

I hardly bother about garnishing although I would love to!  When one need to prepare meals in a rush, garnishing is seriously on the bottom of the list!  However, with the fried shallot ever readily available, why not?  It does elevate the dish to a different level!

  5. Shelf life – Not worry about rotten batch as preparation in bulk!

As I replenish shallot oil almost immediately as they diminish, I would only keep minimal stock just in case I need them for salad and having them raw.  The rest shall be turned into shallot oil and dried shallot as soon as they landed in the kitchen from the market!

  6. Simply elevates my mood during preparation as well as while having them!

I guess since I have this in my routine, I feel great preparing them, as well as having them.  I always prepare extra for my beloved sister who live nearby and enjoy this goodness too!
