Running out of idea what to do, to fill-up my 2-3 hours gap – was looking for a short crochet project… turned to my youngest daughter and asked her what would she like me to do for her… She took out a fabric pouch and said, “Mi, I want a crochet pouch!”  So, crochet pouch, it is!

This is a wonderful pouch as I adore the puff stitches that create the great sturdy pouch! Initially, I started off with puff stitches and DC so that I could cut down the crochet time. But the patterns looks weird and I ended up doing puff stitches all the way.

Items required for this pattern as attached below :

 Utensils Required

  • 2 colours yarns – sparkly purple and sparkly white (8 ply)
  • Crochet hook – 5mm
  • Needle
  • Scissors

Patterns :

Row 1 : Chain 31.

Row 2 : Sc into the 2nd chain from hook, Sc into each sts to make 30 sc on each side.  Slip sts to the first sts. (60)

Row 3 : Chain 1. Back post Sc into each sts.  Slip sts the last sts to the first sts. (60)

Row 4 : Chain 2. DC in the same sts and into each sts. End with Slip sts. (60)

Row 5 : Chain 1.  SC into each sts. End with Slip sts. (60)

Row 6 : Chain 3, skip 2 sts and Sc into the next sts.  Chain 2, skip 2 sts and sc into the next sts. Repeat to the end and slip sts. (60)

Row 7-9 : Chain 2, puff sts into each loops.  Slip sts into the first puff sts.

Change to sparkly white yarn.

Row 10 – 15 : Chain 2, puff sts into each in-between each puff sts.  Repeat and end with slip sts. (30 puffs)

Change to sparkly purple yarn.

Row 16 -18 : Chain 2, puff sts into each in-between each puff sts.  Repeat and end with slip sts. (30 puffs)

Row 19 : Chain 3, Sc in each in between each puff sts.  Slip sts into the first sts.

Row 20-22 : Sc 1, Chain 3, Sc in the 2nd sts of the next chain of 3.  Repear and slip sts into the first chain sts.

Row 23 : Chain 2, DC 5 into the first chain of 3 loop.  DC 6 into each chain of 3 loops and repeat till the end. Slip sts.

Row 24 : Chain 3, Sc in each in between each puff sts.  Slip sts into the first sts.

 

* Use Sparkly White yarn.

For Strings :

1. Chain 60-80 sts depending on the length of the string for the pouch.

For Flowers :

  1. Chain 3, Slip sts into the first sts, to make a loop.
  2. Chain 1, sc, (2DC into the loop, sc)x4, 2 DC, slip sts into the first sc.
  3. Cast off and leave yarn for weave in.

Do give it a try as it is not as complicated as it seems.
