Year 2020 is coming to an end in another 50 days! It has been a challenging year for most of us due to COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. Lockdown was enforced throughtout the world and borders had been closed in order to “flatten the curve”. In these challenging months, I dragged myself out of comfort zone and continue to learn something new. I would never imagine myself performing online transactions, let alone, setting up one….. 😂😂😂. I was very skeptical about the online transactions and the underlying possible fraud that derived from these online sellers. As a conventional buyer, I would prefer to touch and feel the product before I agree to pay! However, the landscape had totally changed and the pandemic lockdown had expedite the online learning curve across the nation.
I still recall that I almost had an heart attack when I received a call from my DH(darling husband) that Baby A was performing some online purchases – DH found through some chat trail on her mobile. That was 3 years ago. It freaked me out! I was on overseas business trip and I couldn’t get it out of my mind. I blamed myself for committing to work and neglecting her needs. First thing we did when I got back was to have a heart-to-heart talk with her. [Psst : Little did I know, one of the purchases was a surprise birthday gift for me – a personalised notebook]. She was grilled, we hugged, cried, and made plans towards the understanding of having clearer and transparent communications moving forward. 3 years later, today, she doesn’t perform any online purchases anymore but in turn, my husband and I both stayed up during the midnight craze of 11.11 and did some great purchases.
While I garnered the skills of comparing prices across few online platforms and picking up great bargains, at the same time, as an assignments requirements, I totally stepped out of my little comfort zone and finally set up a simple “shop” in Lazada. This is a learning curve for me as well as exploring into the unknkown world of online trading! At the moment, I have 8 fans – I take it as a good sign! Number “8” is a lucky number for Chinese which symbolised “fatt choy”…. Hahahaha! I wonder what would be the fan base 365 days from today…will it be 18, 88, 188, 888, 1088! Let’s see!
The first campaign I participated is “Lazada 11.11.”. There’s still lots of improvement required and I would strive to learn as much as I can before my next journey begin.
